About
Susan Colin
Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, Susan has always been a singer. At age 9, a music teacher brought her into the school chorus and her love for harmonies and vocal blending was launched. While attending Boston University for Vocal Performance, Susan landed her first recording studio gig for a pop song. Hooked on recording, she transferred to Arizona State University and sang jingles, rock operas and pop music at Ed Van Fleet's recording studio Synchestra in Phoenix.
Along life's road, Susan has sung in professional choirs, an all-female rock band called SOFTWARE, created customized songs for children called KIDTUNES, and was the owner of oySongs, a distributor of Jewish music. Susan's musical home is on the bimah as a Cantorial Soloist, singing Jewish worship music in synagogues around the country. She has received 3 Shalshelet Awards for original Jewish compositions.
Susan has recorded 6 CDs of original and familiar Jewish music. Her songs are used in synagogues around the world, published by Transcontinental Music, Behrman House, Hal Leonard and aired on public radio stations.
